As I feared...

the kids had a great time without me. Here are a few pictures from their trip to Bonham State Park.

The park was crowded but a last minute no-show meant that they managed to find a campsite.


The parks are so dry, even after all of the August rains, that campfires are forbidden. Hotdog and marshmellow roasting both had to be done over a charcoal fire.

The fishing wasn't that big a hit as the fish didn't show up but they gave it a try at least.

In addition to the fishing they managed a short hike and swimming in the lake.

It's great ... not only did Sid take the kids out for a fun trip but he took pictures, too! Loved 'em! Mom
