Once again denial fails as a defense mechanism.

We kept saying that Bello's weight gain was good. She's been hungry a long time. Boy, she looks a lot healthier now. But of course she could not get her shots today because she is in fact very pregnant. We've been told that we have to bring her inside until she weans the kittens or we are dooming them to certain death. BTW - I did have Bello tested for a host of common kitty ailments and she's healthy. So we are spending the day kitty-proofing Blake's old room and moving her in to air-conditioned splendor. Let's just hope Bello takes to the litter box and Gina doesn't start peeing on everything to demonstrate her displeasure. While we're at it let's just hope there are only one or two extra cats tucked in there. This is going to be a long two months.

Oh, my. Good luck. I'm guessing she has never seen a litter box?
You guys did the right thing by adopting her, tho. (Even though I know she really adopted you. She could recognize "good people" even tho you tried not to respond!)

Bello took to the litter box with no trouble. Gina has choosen to express her displeaure by nipping my hand every time I try to pet her. We've only lost Bello once so far. She managed, despite our best efforts, to get inside of the box spring which is leaning up againt the wall and had to be rescued.

When she has the kittens, look for them somewhere secret (Like inside the box spring up against the wall!)
